Studied law in Munich, Geneva and Erlangen. Research assistant to the chair for German and International Tax Law at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen/Nuremberg. PhD in Constitutional Law under Professor Dr Walter Schick.
Independent lawyer since 1977. He has worked predominantly as an Insolvency Administrator since 1986 and almost entirely since 1992.
An independent expert jury appointed by the WirtschaftsWoche magazine voted Dr. Siegfried Beck to be among the top 25 German experts for insolvency law (see issue 9/2011).

In 2011 Dr. Siegfried Beck was voted one of the top 25 experts for Insolvency Law in Germany by an independent jury of experts who were appointed by the German magazine WirtschaftsWoche (WiWo, ed. 9/2011).

On 24 February 2014 the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg appointed Dr. Beck honorary professor.
